How Much Does 1,000 Sq Ft of SPC Flooring Cost in New Jersey?
The most common question we get at the warehouse is simple: what will my floor cost? Here are real material numbers for waterproof SPC vinyl plank from our Wharton, NJ warehouse, worked out the way you would actually buy it: by the full box, with extra for cuts.
The short answer
For a 1,000 sq ft area, plan on about $1,754 for 5 mm or $2,172 for 7 mm SPC in materials, before tax. That includes 5% extra for cuts and waste, rounded up to full boxes.
How the math works
- Measure the room in square feet (length x width; add closets).
- Add 5% for cuts and waste. 1,000 sq ft becomes 1,050 sq ft. Rooms with many angles or a diagonal layout need a little more.
- Divide by the box size and round up: 5 mm boxes cover 23.8 sq ft (10 planks); 7 mm boxes cover 22.08 sq ft (6 planks).

Prices are our current online prices: 5 mm at $1.64 per sq ft ($38.98 per box) and 7 mm at $2.05 per sq ft ($45.26 per box), before NJ sales tax. Each product page has a calculator that does this math for your exact room.
What is included in the plank
Every color has a 22 mil wear layer, a 100% waterproof rigid SPC core and an attached IXPE pad (1 mm on 5 mm, 1.5 mm on 7 mm), so you do not buy a separate underlayment for most installs. Check the installation instructions for anything extra your subfloor needs, such as a vapor barrier over concrete.

5 mm or 7 mm?
5 mm (7.13" x 48" plank) is the value pick for most rooms and rentals. 7 mm (9" x 60" plank, thicker pad) costs about $418 more for 1,000 sq ft and feels more solid and quieter underfoot. Three colors, Alpine Mist, Natural Haven and Silver Ridge, come in 7 mm only.
